Meet the Creator: Aditya Deshpande

Hi, I'm Aditya. As an engineer who regularly handles sensitive financial receipts, NDA-bound design mockups, and legal documents, I became frustrated with modern "free" PDF converters. Nearly every major online converter forces you to upload your confidential files to remote cloud servers, queues your documents on external clusters, and throttles basic actions behind aggressive 2-file daily limits or expensive monthly subscriptions.

I built ScreenshotToPDF to prove that document manipulation can be done better, faster, and 100% privately. By moving the entire processing pipeline directly into your web browser using modern WebAssembly and JavaScript, your files never leave your machine — eliminating security risks and server queues entirely.

How the Client-Side Engine Works

When you drop a file or paste an image from your clipboard, our engine uses pdf-lib compiled to run in-memory, Cropper.js for zero-loss image framing, Tesseract.js for local OCR text recognition, and SortableJS for drag-and-drop canvas organization. Because computation happens using your device's own CPU and RAM via Web Workers, conversion is instantaneous and works even if you disconnect from the internet after page load.

The Tech Stack

The website is engineered with Astro and Tailwind CSS v4 for lightning-fast static delivery, hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The infrastructure serves purely static HTML, CSS, and WebAssembly binaries — our servers do not have databases or backend storage to receive or hold user documents.

We believe essential everyday digital tools should be accessible to everyone without cost barriers. To cover domain registration, CDN bandwidth, and ongoing software maintenance without charging users, we display non-intrusive, privacy-compliant contextual advertisements (including Google AdSense).
